    Exceptional

It only had 3 stars but it deserves more!!! It is far better than a lot of the motels I have stayed at that have claimed to be 'luxury'. Great value for money. Staff great!! All excelent

No cutting board in the kitchen.

    Very good

The location was perfect for our visit to Gisborne.

The owner arguing at the back of the motel as it made us feel rather uncomfortable.

    Proximity to the city centre.

We thought the room was very small, the wall heater did not work and a small fan heater in the room was inadequate. The price compared to our accommodation the previous night in Napier, was expensive. Also we were unable to park in front of our unit as units behind ours had used what we considered was 'our park'. Not sufficient parking for units!

Good size apt. Regular Milk in carton, not long life. Lady who checked us in very helpful. Electric blankets good.

Free Wifi misleading, website and sign outside motel say "free 2Wifi" but I had to ask for it and had to go to front desk to get a card worth $5 for half an hour (no download amount). It should have. Even offered at checking. When I asked for another one for my husband so he can use his iPad, I was told by the man that I was lucky to have one as it was worth $5 and I would have to buy another one if we both need to use Internet. This is the worst "free Internet" I have had in nz and have stayed in motels from invercargill to russell so have a lot of experience. It is not much better than motels I have stayed at in Auckland that are half the price. In addition, There was only one very small heater for the whole place and no heater in bathroom and it was cold.

    Good

Only a tiny sink in the shower room - not easy to wash dishes!

The owner went out of her way to connect me to the internet as they had run out of internet cards, its just a shame that they decided to disconnect me at 9.30pm when they shut the office as I still had alot of work to do.

The room was average and overpriced for what we got. The tv was very old and some of the channels where unwatchable. The stairs where slipperly when wet, and the owners kitchen window opened out half way into the stairs. When I closed it and told the owner that I had cracked my ankle on her window she was not very interested and kept opening the window. The room was not what I expected and said that I didn't want to stay here, could I please have my money back so I could go to another motel, (I thought this wa fair as they where not fully booked), she did offer to upgrade at a larger price. When I said I wasn't really interested in an upgrade at that price she said that she had met people like me before and said that I was not going to get a free upgrade (which I had not asked for). Also to top it off I was kept away to after midnight with banging of doors from the owners residences and one of the teenage sons who lived in the room next to mine.

Bed was hard and uncomfortable as was the pillows; The bathroom smelt of dampness and lino was lifting. Needs renovating. No sink to wash dishes, very hygienic; couldn't get the clock to work; The fan in the room was old and noisy
